The Spalding 79564 Backboard/Rim Combo with 54” Acrylic Backboard is a great replacement for Spalding basketball systems that need a new backboard. This wall-mount basketball system can only be mounted on square poles if ever. The package does not include a mounting bracket. That has to be purchased separately.

Mounting brackets

There are different options regarding these mounting brackets. There are mounting brackets that feature a height adjustment mechanism and those that mount the basketball system at a fixed height. The Spalding 8406S Universal Mounting Bracket is a cheaper alternative and it mounts the basketball system at a fixed height. Choosing a compatible mounting bracket is important. If holes are not aligned, it can require more work to assemble this basketball system.
