The Lifetime 1529 Courtside Base Height-Adjustable Portable Basketball System with 50-Inch Shatter Fusion Backboard is a light portable basketball system. It features a 50 Inch Shatter Fusion backboard made of Makrolon polycarbonate which is much tougher than acrylic. It weighs 30 pounds when the base is not filled up. The product dimensions are 52 x 30 x 15 inches.

The other parts consist of 3.5 inch round pole, an orange Slam-It rim, nylon net and a 27-gallon base. The base is made of plastic and it should be full of sand or water with anti-freeze for stability. The base is equipped with wheels for portability.

Assemble and fill the base

Assembly is easy using the instruction manual. It will certainly need a couple of tools like two ¾” wrenches, two ½” wrenches and the other sizes required. It takes a few hours to assemble this portable basketball system.

Filling the base takes time as well. It will take time especially if it is to be filled up completely. Some even tend to add more sand bags on the base for better stability.

This portable basketball hoop is light even with the base filled. It cannot stand strong winds of around 70 miles per hour. During storms, it might be wise to set this on its side.
