This basketball system includes a sturdy high performance backboard, hoop, net, ball, brackets for mounting and instructions. The dimensions of this indoor miniature basketball system are 5.5 x 17.4 x 13.6 inches. The whole basketball system is really light. It only weighs 1.8 pounds. This basketball hoop is recommended for ages 8 and up. The Nerfhoop Basketball Slam The Nerfhoop is mostly made of plastic material except for the ball which is made of rubber. Even if nearly all the parts are made of plastic, this indoor miniature basketball system is quite sturdy. The plastic net folds whenever it is “slammed” on. Few may observe that it tends to fold even with long shots. This basketball set’s hoop folds too much for some people. Yet, it can withstand aggressive play. Some may also say that the Nerfhoop backboard is rather thin. However, with some care, it can also last for some time. The ball that is included with this basketball set is a bit different from what people expect. It is made of rubber and not foam. It bounces and can be dribbled like a small regulation ball. Thus, it can be quite noisy. Furthermore, due to the fact that this hoop is meant to be indoors, the rubber ball can be bad for light fixtures and some furniture. Assembly Putting the Nerfhoop together is not that difficult. In fact, using the instruction manual, it can be up in a matter of minutes. It is best to mount this basketball hoop over the door or on any wall. It can practically be placed in any room inside the house. The Nerfhoop is great for indoor play especially during the cold months wherein it is simply too cold to play ball outside.
Bottom line: The Nerf Sport Nerfhoop Basketball Slam is an affordable and sturdy miniature basketball hoop. Its ball may be made of rubber and most of its parts may be plastic, but it is still a fun way to play basketball indoors especially when playing outdoors is not an option.
