This in-ground basketball system features a 54 inch backboard that is further supported by a steel frame lined with aluminum. This system is built to last. The product dimensions are 63 x 11 x 11 inches and the system weighs 30 pounds. However, the entire package weighs a total of 147.7 pounds when it is shipped. The box includes the 54 inch glass backboard, backboard frame, 2 piece 4 inch steel pole, Pro Image rim and ground sleeve. Glass backboard Compared to other plastic backboards, tempered glass backboards give that look and feel of a professional backboard. It is capable of giving true rebounds and it is solid enough not to wobble. This backboard is made for layups and bank shots. The dimensions of the backboard are 54 x 32 x 1 inch with a 1” x 1” steel frame. The Pro Image rim is attached to the backboard. Together, both the backboard and rim can withstand aggressive play. U-Turn lift system The U-Turn lift system makes it possible to adjust the height of the rim anywhere between 7 to 10 feet in infinite increments. This mechanism makes use of a crank that needs to be turned in order to adjust the height. This crank will need constant maintenance and lubricant needs to be applied to it once in a while. It can get very difficult to adjust the height when the crank gets stuck. Assembling Many people might find it difficult to assemble this in-ground basketball unit. This basketball system comes with a 2 piece pole and ground sleeve that have to be assembled first and then cemented. The ground sleeve makes the system ready to be cemented and it makes it possible for the hoop to be removed after assembly. One needs a sledge hammer to put the two pieces of the pole together.
